Victory Medals - 1680 Louis XIV French Ecu
£17.99
The use of replica coins as victory medals add a certain je ne sais quoi to a game of TtS!
I've bought some of these 1680 French coins for my own use as victory medals for the French for the forthcoming "Lust for Glory" rules.
On the obverse, there is a bust of an armoured Louis XIV. Latin script: LVD• XIIII• D• G FR• ET• NAV• REX (Ludovicus XIIII Dei Gratia Franciae et Navarrae Rex)
The reverse features a royal French shield surrounded by pious legend and date. SIT• NOMEN• DOMINI• &• BENEDICTVM•1680• (Sit Nomen Domini Benedictum: Blessed be the name of the Lord.)
These really large silver-plated pewter coins are 40mm in diameter. They are sold in packs of 10.
